Hi Randy, great plugin, thanks, It works as a charm, I wonder if there is a way to make it work with images being in the same domain, because I have a bunch of posts old post with linked images that I uploaded using http://ftp...(I bypassed the image uploader because I was importing the posts from an .csv file), thanks for your help

(continued from previous post) … the same placeholder, I notice, is showing up at the very top of this very page marked “screenshot-1″ !! So I guess it is not something wrong on my end, but a bug. I have been searching for a plug-in to accomplish this very thing for a long time and had almost given up. I do hope that it is still being maintained.

I just installed this on my new WordPress 3.0 blog. I tested it first on a post that had several external images. When I went to edit the post and clicked “Update,” the plugin replaced the SRC code, and added entries to my Media Library, but the images were not actually downloaded into the Media Library. All that shows up is an empty placeholder. I tried deleting the entries from the Media Library and made several attempts after tweaking a few other settings (hotlink protection on the source server, etc) to see if that would help but kept getting the same results. So I gave up and deactivated the plug-in, and then restored the post to its original state. But now for some reason, when I try to view the post I am getting a 404 error on that page!

I have been using your add-linked-images-to-gallery component. It has worked real well for me except now that I am pulling in RSS feeds using FeedWordPress, your plug-in is throwing PHP errors. My question is , where would be the best place in your script to put an if statement that would keep your plug-in from grabbing images if the post source is syndicated?

I've finally found that WP_Error on line 48 issue and fixed it by adding WP_Error trapping.

The way I recreated the issue was by linking to a document, rather than an image. WordPress's wp_sideload_image function (rightly) chokes on it because it's not an image file.

I am getting this error as well:

the Plugin looks great, hope it works in the near future,
